The pain is inescapable

   Venomous strikes at every turn

Always coming round for more 

  Always knocking at my door

Till it makes me scream

   I can take no more

Mercy it does not know

   Mercy it will never show

Like fingers caught in the machine

   Unrelenting regardless of my screams

Leaves me dazed and numb

   To its power I have succumb  

Run but I can’t get away

   Reeling from the shock and pain

Taking all the breath from me

   Seers my eyes so I can’t see

All the strength from me is drained

   Imprisoned here with the insane

The pain is inescapable

   Shared by each and everyone

The marks it leaves are traceable

   The silken thread that through us runs

Our lives unraveling

   Unwoven we are done

The invisible thread that makes us one

   And to it we will all succumb

     And in the end we are undone
