IF ONLY YOU KNEW

If only you knew,

How I believe in you,

Your voice brings hope and happiness, your words,

your presence are rays of light that lifts my gloomy night.

In the sunshine of your beauty, I find serenity.

You are an inspiration, I trust you with my life, my love,

and I will never leave.

If only you knew,

How I hope to see you,

A glimpse of you, is all I need, to know that the world is right.

I see your tender eyes smiling in the middle of the night.

A dream perhaps, as some would say, but how can I be sure?

I hold you close to my heart, even though, for now,

we may be apart.

If only you knew,

How I love you so,

To touch your face to mine, and feel our souls unite.

Your depth, and strength and might,

carries me away to a world I have never known.

Are there maps or stars to guide us, or are we alone

and on our own?

I want you for a friend and lover,

together forever more.
